Mancinelli's Auto repair has raised over $4118 to help the Lupus Foundation of Colorado.
IN MEMORY OF I remember the first time I had ever heard of Lupus. It was 1996 and I had met Lu Mancinelli. When she told me of her chronic aches and pains, that she had auto immune hepatitis, and the beginning of liver failure, I started to do research on Lupus. What I found was many people are affected by it, every story has similarities, and at the time, there was not a lot of progress toward a cure, let alone treatment. Lu was diagnosed with Lupus in 1990. In the 10 year fight, she was on many different medications, some were experimental and some were not. None of the drugs, however, were able to put her Lupus into remission. She lost her fight with the disease at the age of 40. At the time of her passing, Lupus had caused her chronic pain & fatigue, her liver to fail, damage to her lung tissue which caused a lack of oxygen transfer to her blood and ultimately an enlarged heart and respiratory arrest. The thing I most remember about Lu was her giving and loving personality. Even with all of her ailments, she always helped others and would put their needs before her own. Lu was a great friend of mine and a loving and caring wife of Steve Mancinelli. So in the spirit of Lu, Mancinelli’s hopes to create awareness of Lupus and to raise funds for research and assistance for others that are afflicted with Lupus. This is what Lu would have wanted and would have done. Please help us meet our goal. Thank you! - Jess |
